Towards the end of your service, you may request to go to a week-long seminar where you will learn about the process of being discharged from the army and all the benefits you receive being a chayal mishuchrar, or released soldier. The seminar, usually held at an open college in Ramat Gan, starts at 8am and ends between 15:00 and 16:00 every day. Over the course of the week, you will be broken into smaller groups where you will discuss such topics as;
- Finding a Job
- Writing an Israeli Resume
- Money Management
- Planning that big trip to the “Far East”
- Avodah Mo’odefet: By working at specific jobs like hotels, security, Kibbutzim, or Gas Stations, you will become eligible to receive a special bonus of 8,487 new shekels at the end of 150 work days.
- The Department of Education
- Social Security
- Health Insurance
- Reserve Duty
*Note: If you are a lone soldier, request to attend the special Lone Soldier Seminar because they provide more specific information for Olim Chadashim and Lone Soldiers.
