Course Nativ

Army_Courses_For_Immigrants_3_2143551664The Jewish Agency, in partnership with the IDF and the Ministry of Absorption, created NATIV, a Jewish Zionist Identity Program for Immigrant Soldiers in order to provide the structural framework to ensure the full integration of these new immigrants into Israeli society – both in the army and everyday life. NATIV gives immigrant soldiers from any country who have lived in Israel ten years or less, Jewish (according to Orthodox Halacha – Jewish Religious Law) or not, the opportunity to take up to three months, as part of their Army service, for intensive Jewish educational programming to foster a stronger Jewish identity.  The program’s educators represent Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox Judaism, so that participants receive not only a Jewish education but a pluralistic one.  The program also provides the first step for those soldiers that wish to begin a conversion to Judaism.
